A Danish billionaire decided that after buying his $2.7 million Koenigsegg Gemera supercar, he would use it for a unique purpose, which entailed not driving his new toy for even a solitary mile.

Danish billionaire Jorgen Hansen is a lover of supercars, and of course, the Gemera is one of the greatest of the modern age, with a crazy amount of power under the hood.

So, rather than buy one for his own personal enjoyment, Hansen decided he would use it to promote the Brolokke Manor, which he bought.

An expensive supercar at an expensive luxury manor sounds like the perfect combination.

Why the Danish billionaire wanted the Koenigsegg Gemera

Hansen spoke to Danish publication FAA about why he bought the supercar.

“We hope it can attract people to Langeland,” he said, which is the island the manor is located on.

The manor itself cost him $2.7 million back in 2021.

So all-in, Hansen spent over $5 million buying both the Koenigsegg Gemera and the luxury home.

The ultimate aim was to boost the tourism appeal of the location.

Brolokke Manor, built in the 16th century, was already host to a hotel and restaurant.

There were never any plans to drive the supercar once it arrived at its new home.

But promoting the island with one of the world’s greatest supercars seemed like the perfect idea.

Few could argue with just how good this car really is.

This is why the Gemera was specifically chosen to promote the island

Few cars can command such attention as the Gemera, as our own Alex Hirschi, AKA Supercar Blondie herself, found out.

Sitting under the hood is a 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, backed up with three electric motors.

All in, this monster of a car makes over 2,300hp.

But it could have been different, as originally it was to have a 2.0-liter TFG twin-turbocharged inline-three.

However, after customers demanded more power, Koenigsegg abandoned the engine.

Before production began, they announced the big V8 hybrid would instead power the Gemera.

That was certainly the right call, and it became one of the world’s most powerful performance cars.

Seeing one of these amazing cars at such an exotic location should be a thrill for all those who visit.

We do wonder how long Hansen will be able to resist the temptation to drive the car.
