An American man from Florida was able to track down his stolen RAM 1500 TRX after seeing the pickup truck advertised for sale.

The owner, named Jonathan, had only owned the truck for a couple of months before it was stolen from his Broward County home.

However, after the police were unable to help him, he tracked the pickup down for himself and suddenly struck gold.

With his truck located, Jonathan hastily booked a flight to confront its new ‘owner’ and to get the RAM back.

A lucky break saw the owner track his RAM

Jonathan had tried to find the truck on Craigslist; however, that turned up no new leads.

But, he got a notification on his phone a few weeks later via the Stellantis vehicle app that the 1500 had been driven 800 miles since he last saw it.

The thief had disabled the truck’s GPS, but it still registered odometer updates.

Jonathan then started to look for places within the 800-mile radius and soon found a similar-looking TRX on Facebook marketplace.

As chance would have it, RAM was located 800 miles away in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, just outside Nashville.

Further investigating saw Jonathan finally determine the address the truck was at.

With enough information, the owner booked a flight and headed over to Nashville to get his truck back.

Before doing so, Jonathan had notified the authorities, and by the time he got there the local police had found the truck.

Naturally, he was very happy that it was his truck.

His day got even better when he was able to drive it back home.

As WSVN-TV reported, the thief was attempting to sell the truck for $80,000 once they brought it to Nashville.

Jonathan was overjoyed at having recovered the RAM, and that has led to him looking for more stolen vehicles.

The truck owner said he was already looking for a car stolen from a friend, which ended up in Texas.

His friend now has that car back, and he and that friend are looking for another stolen vehicle.

It shows that even when you think all hope is lost, you may be able to get back what is rightfully yours.
