Incredible footage shows how smartly pilots have to navigate to perform a landing at Congonhas Airport, São Paulo – the second busiest airport in Brazil.

The airport first opened up in 1936 and is one of four commercial airports serving the city of São Paulo; it’s also one of the busiest, with more than 23 million passengers traveling through last year.

And landing at the airport is no mean feat, as the clip above shows, with pilots having to swoop the plane in for landing over the tops of dozens of tall buildings as they head towards the runway.

The clip, which was filmed by luizricardo.kadinho, might leave the average person with some seriously sweaty palms, but it serves to prove just how skilled airline pilots really are.
