The longest-range Gulfstream aircraft ever – the super luxe G800 – has taken its first successful fully outfitted flight.

A firm favorite with the world’s rich and famous, Gulfstream planes are pretty much the gold standard when it comes to private jets.

Back in October 2021, Gulfstream announced its newest plane, the G800 – designed to set new standards when it came to private aircraft.

The G800 would be the world’s longest-range business aircraft, while also having the best fuel efficiency and lowest carbon footprint in its class – and, because it’s a Gulfstream, it’s absolutely stunning inside.

The Gulfstream G800 has the longest-range ever

The G800 is powered by advanced Rolls-Royce 700 Pearl engines, which make the plane more fuel-efficient.

Gulfstream says the G800 has the longest range ever and is capable of flying 14,816km (8,000 nautical miles) at Mach 0.85 or 12,964km (7,000 nautical miles) at Mach 0.90.

On Wednesday, November 27, the G800 took to the air to test its newly-fitted interior.

It flew for one hour and 41 minutes, reaching an altitude of 14,021 meters (46,000ft) and hitting a top speed of Mach 0.91.

“Testing for this aircraft will validate the cabin design and performance of the industry’s longest-range aircraft, focusing on the complete passenger experience to ensure interior comfort and reliability,” the company said in a statement

This outfitted G800 joins two other test aircraft and will undergo further testing under a variety of conditions and trips, including overnight flights, hot and cold weather scenarios, and more.

The G800 used for the test flight was kitted out to the high standard the finished planes will be.

The private jet comes with an abundance of cabin space and can carry up to 19 passengers with room for 10 to sleep.

There’s also an ‘ultragalley’ which works a bit like a kitchen with plenty of counter space, storage, a drinks maker, and cooking appliances.

The luxury aircraft also has a dedicated crew apartment and can be configured in up to four living areas providing plenty of room for passengers.
