This man imported a Jaguar XJ Super V8 from Japan, and its unique history left the car with an extremely impressive spec.

YouTuber Resto Revival said the car’s condition was museum quality, and he wasn’t wrong.

This Jaguar XJ is the perfect blend of class and speed, and best of all, it’s basically preserved as it originally was.

The car’s owner, Paul, spoke to Resto Revival about the Jaguar’s history.

This was a 2006 X350 XJ Super V8, essentially an XJR in terms of engine power, but with a more luxury-focused setup.

For Paul, he had to be very selective when it came to choosing the Jaguar he wanted, as many on the market are in bad condition or have high mileage.

That’s when he turned to Japanese imports.

“On various Jaguar forums, I saw people talking about Japanese Jaguars,” Paul recalled.

“The more I looked into it, the more I realized why cars from Japan are a very good proposition.

“First of all, a car like this is a revered vehicle. They’re usually driven by chauffeurs, meticulously maintained, driven with white gloves on.”

If there’s one thing you can count on Japan for, it’s respect – as demonstrated when thousands of drivers paid up after a toll system crash.

Via a specialist Japanese import dealer in London, Paul identified the car he wanted – it was his desired color, and only had 19,000 miles on the clock.

It was bought sight-unseen.

You can tell this car used to chauffeur CEOs around, with heated rear seats and audio controls in the arm-rests providing the full luxury experience.

Jaguars are always exemplary – just take a look at this Jaguar E-Type which was rescued by WD Detailing.

The Jaguar was in mint condition, again owing something to the fastidious car culture of Japan.

It’d had a service each year of its 19-year lifespan, and everything was accounted for.

The car being in such good shape does present a dilemma for Paul – how much should he actually drive it?

He admitted that he doesn’t drive it much in the winter and gets it serviced yearly.

What is this car like to drive?

When you get a car in such pristine condition, there can be some question of how well it drives.

According to Paul, it’s smooth and comfortable – which you’d expect – but also responsive and powerful.

And it’s got some accolades to its credit – it participated in a Jaguar Drivers Club concours event in the UK and won a Bronze award in an XJ competition.

Most of the car is as it was originally made, meaning the Jaguar XJ’s exceptional state required minimal restoration, besides some detailing and ceramic coating.
