This is the Jaguar XJR-15, a V12 supercar that most people have probably forgotten about.
Inspired by Le Mans and built to beat the McLaren F1, the Jaguar XJR-15 was a V12 monster that was more than just a concept.
Over 50 units were built, each with a price tag of around $1 million.
But it’s nigh on impossible to find one in good condition today.

A supercar inspired by Le Mans, ready to take on the McLaren F1
Developed by Tom Walkinshaw Racing, the XJR-15 was designed with an ambitious goal in mind. Jaguar wanted to make it faster than the McLaren F1.
It used a 6.0-liter V12, available with a five or six-speed manual transmission – for the race car version – and, thanks to its carbon fiber construction, it had an impressive power-to-weight ratio.

It produced 450HP, and only weighed about 1,050KG.
The XJR-15 did 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and the top speed was electronically limited to 191MPH – or 307KMH.
Jaguar built over 50 examples, most sources say 53, with a price tag of around $960,000 in today’s money.
Jaguar doesn’t really make supercars like this anymore

In the good old days, Jaguar used to build iconic hypercars such as the XJ-220 or beautiful concept supercars like the C-X75.
The company isn’t really doing that anymore.
These days, after providing fleets of SUVs for Waymo’s fleets, the British automaker decided to rebrand with a controversial new look that was harshly criticized on social media.
Will it work?
Only will time well.
Jaguar said the new vehicle, the first of the new era, should be here by the end of 2026.
We’ll find out whether it sells or not because, at the end of the day, that’s the only thing that matters.
