Japan Airlines is offering free domestic flights to all tourists visiting Japan.

The national carrier is offering the free domestic flights for an interesting initiative.

The initiative is aimed at promoting tourism beyond places such as Tokyo and Kyoto.

But, as with most things, there’s a catch – and it’s important to read the fine print on this one.

Japan Airlines offers free domestic flights – with a catch

The offer of free domestic flights is an intriguing one at the best of times.

It is even more intriguing when they are offered by Japan’s national airline.

Japan Airlines recently launched an intriguing offer to tourists visiting the country.

When visiting the nation with Japan Airlines, tourists have an interesting option available to them.

In order to encourage tourism beyond Tokyo and Osaka, the airline is making this offer.

Tourists will be offered free domestic flights at the time of their booking.

These free domestic flights are available to another place within Japan.

Of course, like all free things, the promotion comes with a catch.

The free domestic flight must be booked at the same time as the international booking.

Customers who purchase internal Japanese flights at a different time are not eligible for the promotion.

Additionally, travellers who stay in their airport of arrival for more than 24 hours can incur fees for doing so.

Why is Japan Airlines offering this promotion?

You might be wondering why Japan Airlines is offering such a deal.

Usually, these kinds of deals are the type that often sound too good to be true.

However, this promotion is being cleverly offered to alleviate a population problem.

Tokyo is well-known for being one of the most populated cities in the world.

The metropolitan area of Tokyo has a population of over 14 million on its own.

The wider area, including prefectures, has an estimated population of around 37-38 million.

Tokyo is a natural tourist destination hub – and Japan is trying to change that.

In order to encourage tourists to visit other parts of Japan, the airline has produced this promotion.

The aim is to promote lesser-known regions of Japan for a richer cultural experience.

Time will tell how beneficial the free domestic flights policy proves to be for Japan.
