After driving a Tesla Model 3 Performance 3 for 18 months, this Kentucky man decided it was time to share the ‘brutal’ truth.
Jeremiah Jones has racked up 20,000 miles on his Tesla, declaring it was great value for money as a daily driver.
Nonetheless, he decided to sell it.
Despite the car’s numerous good qualities, there were just some things about it that he couldn’t shake.

What did this man make of his Tesla Model 3 Performance after 18 months and 20,000 miles?
Although Jones’ video – which you can see below – led with ‘The BRUTAL Truth’ in its title, he did have a lot of nice things to say about the car.
He called it the ‘best-looking car in Tesla’s current line-up’, while also praising the interior as the perfect ‘middle ground’ between hardcore sport bucket seats and standard Tesla seating.

For people dipping their toes into the waters of EV driving, Jones felt this car was the perfect car to try out.
With a 2.9-second 0-60mph time, up to 250 miles in real-world range, and cheap home charging, there was a lot to like about the Tesla Model 3 Performance.
So that begs the question – what is the ‘brutal truth’ about this car and why was he selling it?

The brutal truth revealed
For one thing, Jones sees these cars as investments, and he feels he’d come to the end of his content cycle with the car.
Then there was the matter of resale offers.
“With the tax credit ending, it’s [got an] improved resale value,” he explained.

“I was genuinely expecting to get 25 to 30 for the car, but I’m getting offers in the high 30s. I’m hoping to get a little more.”
But there are things about the car itself that are prompting his decision to sell.
“It is outdated,” Jones admitted.
“New 3s have the stock and a front camera, plus they’re probably about to get the black headliner and nicer screens from the Model Y Performance.”
Then there’s the fact that he already owns a Model S, which has a lot of overlap with the 3, except it ‘does pretty much everything better’.

And there are some wear issues, including squeaking armrests and a rear deck rattle.
So with all of that in mind, it’s understandable why Jones decided it was time to part ways.
He isn’t the first person to give his honest take on a Tesla – this guy was dishing out his verdict after 15 months with the Model 3.
Even the CEO of Xiaomi has been giving his take on the Model Y.
