An American man from Los Angeles who owned the Tesla Model 3, Rivian R1S, and Lucid Air has compared the three EVs against each other.

The LA owner posted his experience on Reddit, comparing the three cars in various areas, including build quality, range, and features.

His discussion of the three led to some interesting differences and similarities between them.

In fact, some of the differences were quite surprising.

The American first spoke about the Rivian R1S EV on his Reddit post.

Surprisingly, he described the build quality as slightly worse than the Tesla, with rattles and squeaks and some panel gaps.

It was also the hardest to park.

Meanwhile, he said the Rivian’s software sat somewhere between the Lucid and the Tesla.

The R1S does have some form of self-driving, but not quite on the level of the full Tesla suite.

While charging was fast thanks to the NACS adapter, he described the Rivian as having the worst battery life.

However, he did enjoy its boxy design, and he said it had the best trunk and frunk of the three.

The Lucid Air was the car that turned the most heads when he was out driving it.

He also said the Lucid Air’s battery life was phenomenal, getting 380-400 miles.

He claimed it had the best build quality out of the three EVs, but said its software was the worst of the three.

The self-driving mode was more of an assist than a full autopilot.

The Lucid Air was praised for its interior, with it easily being the best of the three, according to the poster.

Inside it was also a lot more spacious than the other two, but charging was poor as the Lucid had no NACS adapter.

The Tesla Model 3 was described as the ‘iPhone of EVs.’

This was based around the fact it just worked, however, the Redditor felt it was also a little boring.

He said build quality was still an issue for the Model 3, even with the refreshed model.

He also branded the lack of an instrument cluster or stalks as ‘stupid’.

All three had some pros and cons, and choosing a winner was clearly not an easy task.
