This Florida man bought an incredibly cheap Ferrari 360 Spider that had been abandoned for seven years but instantly regretted it as the car immediately died due to a $2k part failing.

The Italian supercar had been sitting in a foreclosed house with no keys for years.

Although the car was able to start during an initial inspection, it started to show problems just weeks later.

One of the most important parts of the car had failed, causing several issues.

Buying an incredibly cheap Ferrari 360 Spider

YouTuber Samcrac bought an incredibly cheap Ferrari 360 Spider but soon regretted it.

Just weeks after buying it, the car wouldn’t start properly and made a terrible clicking noise.

Fortunately, Sam was quite familiar with this issue as he already owned another Ferrari 360 Spider.

He recognized the clicking noise was due to a failed engine ECU, which was a known problem with this car model.

An ECU is kind of like the brain of a car as it handles all the electronics.

Replacing the part would cost him $2,000.

That wasn’t the only issue either.

Fixing the car

Other than that, the driver’s side door cables and handles were also malfunctioning.

So Sam had to enter through the passenger side.

The convertible top also had a hydraulic issue that prevented it from opening properly.

Fortunately, Sam has a lot of experience in fixing Ferraris, so he was able to fix these issues without much trouble.

Buying abandoned cars like these is always risky and comes with several issues.

Thankfully, Sam already had a plan on how to save the $2,000 ECU part by changing one of its semiconductors for $3 or $4.

So it shouldn’t be long before he figures out the rest of the issues plaguing this supercar.
