A YouTuber scrolling Facebook Marketplace spotted an ad offering a free abandoned boat and decided to jump on it fast.
He expected a rough little project, but when he arrived, he realized the listing was massively underselling what was actually there.
Sitting in a boatyard after around 15 years of neglect was not a small boat at all; it was a full-sized yacht.
What started as a casual look at a free giveaway quickly turned into one of the biggest surprise projects the YouTuber had ever seen.

He found a Facebook Marketplace ad for a free abandoned boat
A YouTuber said he was drinking coffee and browsing Facebook Marketplace when a simple listing caught his eye: ‘free boat‘.
He called the seller, who told him the boat had been sitting for around 15 years at a boatyard and had essentially been abandoned.
With other people reportedly interested, he hurried to get there first, but the scramble to collect it quickly became a project of its own.

His original plan was to tow it with his diesel truck, but the battery was dead, and when it finally fired up, it sounded like it had a serious engine problem.
That meant switching to a supercharged Escalade and hunting down a trailer, which took multiple stops and a lot of asking around before they found one big enough.

It turned out to be a full-sized yacht
When he finally arrived, the reality of the listing hit him instantly.
The so-called boat was huge, and the YouTuber kept repeating the same point: this was not a boat, it was a yacht.
He began inspecting the exterior and then the mechanical setup, pointing out that it had direct drives rather than the kind he expected.

A look into the engine bay revealed a twin 7.4-liter fuel-injected 454 big block engine, plus a built-in generator, suggesting it was designed for serious cruising rather than short trips.
Inside, the yacht looked more like a tiny floating home; it had a full kitchen setup, sleeping areas, and even heating and air conditioning that could run off shore-based power or the onboard generator.
The problem was the condition because mold was everywhere, and the smell was strong, meaning a deep clean would be needed before it was actually usable.
Even transporting it was not simple, as they realized the yacht was too heavy and too wide to tow safely with the Escalade; they would need an oversized load truck to move it.
At the end of the video, the YouTuber said that the free abandoned boat will become a future restoration project, with the hope of eventually turning it into a vessel for cruising once more.
