This man showed how much it costs to fill a gas tank in a McLaren Senna, and – as you can probably guess – it’s not cheap.

The hypercar is known to have a high performance rate, but there’s a cost behind that engine power.

It can reach speeds as high as 208 mph, but to achieve this, it also requires gas – a lot of gas.

Once you see how much it costs to refuel, your eyes may start watering.

Filling up a McLaren Senna dented his wallet

The McLaren Senna is an impressive hypercar. It is even described as being the company’s ‘fastest track-focused road hypercar’.

But, alongside a big cost to buy one, keeping the car running also costs a fair bit too.

Content creator @tomiauto shared just how much it costs to fill up a McLaren Senna – and it will shock you.

He took a Senna to a gas station ready to up the range, and after correctly positioning the gas pump, he realised that it was set to be an expensive errand.

“A full tank in a Senna, bear in mind I had 10 miles of range left, [is]51 liters, £78.44 ($106.84),” he explained.

After filling up the car, he then set out to determine how much range the gas had actually given him.

“It’s updated now, and a full tank in a McLaren Senna gets you 130 miles of range,” he explained.

“I’m trying to say it, hoping that it will get better, but it’s just as bad.”

So, it’s clear to see that if the estimated retail price of a 2020 Senna, coming in at a whopping $1,000,000–$1,200,000, doesn’t empty your wallet, then the cost of filling it up certainly will.

Online, users were amused at the sheer cost and the miles it bought, and it’s not hard to see why.

“And it’s for this very reason that I went for a Vauxhall Corsa instead,” joked one gearhead.

“I’ll definitely get bored after a while, to stop every 80 miles to refill,” said another social media user.

“I can get two full tanks in my car for one full tank in yours,” said another

What makes the Senna so great?

Like most hypercars, the Senna can reach seriously high speeds, capable of 208mph and outputting 800Nm of torque.

So, it’s no surprise that car fans love the model so much.

In fact, one was such a fan that he wanted to display the McLaren in his home, so he airlifted it 57 stories to be used as an ornament.

The hypercar also has some hidden secrets, which Supercar Blondie aka aka Alex Hirschi, found out for herself.

She managed to get her hands on a Senna and, in turn, discovered a ‘secret compartment’ that you wouldn’t suspect was even there.

We wonder if @tomiauto found the same, but one thing is for sure, his bank account wasn’t happy after filling a Senna up – which you can catch below.

This is probably the least fuel efficient car that I have ever driven 🤣
