While President Trump’s new Air Force One has been dominating the headlines, the First Lady is set to get a $70 million Boeing.
Melania Trump is reportedly set to get access to a Boeing BBJ Max 8.
Originally intended to carry more than 160 passengers, this plane has been utterly transformed into a residence-style jet with room for just 17.
You’ve heard of amenities being ‘fit for a king’, how about fit for a First Lady?
Melania Trump could be getting a $70 million Boeing
There’s been an awful lot of press about the new Air Force One donated to the US by Qatar.
We’ve certainly contributed to the media buzz, whether it was looking at its luxurious spiral stairs or the staggering costs that come with converting it.
But in the background, another plane story has been brewing in Washington, D.C.

And it’s this Boeing BBJ Max 8, which is reportedly going to be used for First Lady Melania Trump to travel in.
Melania won’t be the only person permitted to fly on the plane, but let’s face it – she is the most high-profile.
These reports have generated a lot of political buzz, as politicians on both sides of the aisle debate the rights and wrongs of such a move.
But what has likely grabbed many people’s attention is the setup of this plane.
This plane contains two separate suites with queen beds, one a master suite and the other for guests.

Both come with dedicated monitors, storage, and access to showers.
There’s also a kitchen onboard, decked out with dual refrigerators, two ovens, a microwave, and double sinks.
That’s not forgetting the buffet bar and a separate wet bar in the forward lounge.
You don’t have to be a political strategist to come to this takeaway, but it seems quite clear that this plane is less about business and more about pleasure.
Throughout the rest of the plane, multiple lounge areas open up spaces for conversations.

With club seating and adjustable tables, we get the feeling any meetings that would occur here would feel less traditionally formal.
It’s smaller than Air Force One, it’s arguably more intimate, and it most definitely won’t generate as many headlines.
But still, it’s a nice-looking plane, however you slice it.

World leaders have access to some amazing planes
We’ve seen a lot of incredible planes serve as Air Force One over the years – remember Ronald Reagan’s Boeing 747?
But it’s not just in the States that higher-ups are jet-setting around in some extraordinary planes.
You have King Willem-Alexander from the Netherlands flying himself around in a Boeing 737.
Over in Thailand, the King and Queen have made Boeing a family affair by serving as pilot and co-pilot.
