This is the new PureSpeed, a unique roofless speedster unveiled by Mercedes-AMG and inspired by Formula 1.

Inspired by Mercedes’ Formula 1 race car, the PureSpeed doesn’t have a roof or a windshield, but it does have a HALO-like system.

Only 250 units will be produced, but the price hasn’t been revealed.

But then again, if one has to ask…

The production version of the PureSpeed is very similar to the concept unveiled a while back, it also shares some design cues, in part, with another F1-inspired limited-edition supercar, the Mercedes-AMG One.

It’s also worth nothing that will go down in history as the last-ever production Mercedes tested by Lewis Hamilton before his anticipated move to Ferrari next year.

The HALO system designed to protect the driver’s head replaces the conventional vehicle A-pillar and it’s worth nothing that two aerodynamically optimized helmets are also included in the sale.

The wheels feature unique carbon fibre cladding, with the rear wheel covers completely closed to improve aerodynamics.

Meanwhile, the front wheel covers allow for optimized airflow at the front end for brake cooling and downforce.

The engine that powers the PureSpeed

Under the hood, the PureSpeed is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo, which puts out 585HP and 590lb-ft of torque.

This is a 4MATIC+ car, which means power goes to all four wheels using a nine-speed transmission.

According to Mercedes-AMG, the PureSpeed does 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds, and the top speed is 195mph, a hair under 315km/h.

For a car with no windshield and no roof, that’s not bad at all.

Production is capped at 250 units, but Mercedes-AMG hasn’t provided an MSRP for the car.

The only thing we know for certain is it’ll be a seven-figure price tag.
