MotoGP has made a bold move and partnered up with Fox Sports to try to make motorcycle racing the biggest motorsport on the planet.
The series is now owned by Formula 1 owners Liberty Media, but it’s still quite niche in the world of motorsports and hasn’t had the best racing product over the past few seasons.
But by partnering with Fox, the series could gain even more exposure, particularly in the United States, which has become a lucrative market for Formula 1.
If MotoGP can capitalize on that, then it could really begin to position itself as one of the biggest motorsport series on the planet.

What the Fox Sports deal entails for MotoGP
MotoGP now has a deal for Fox Sports to broadcast more races, showing them on FS1 and FS2.
There is also scope for them to be broadcast on the main Fox channel in the future.
Access to watch the motorsport in America has always been tricky; however, this will certainly boost its profile.
Tied into this was the hiring of Dan Rossomondo, an NBA veteran, who became MotoGP’s Chief Commercial Officer in 2023.

He very much hopes that the series can make its mark stateside, as F1 has done so.
Liberty Media played an important role in F1’s growth in America.
F1 has shown that breaking through in America is possible
The top level of motorsport now has three races in the United States, with Miami, Circuit of the Americas in Texas, and Las Vegas.
Much of that is down to how Liberty Media has marketed the series.
The addition of the Drive to Survive series on Netflix from 2018 onwards has also helped F1 out.
Drivers have become even bigger stars than they were before.

MotoGP will hope that happens for the likes of Marc Marquez, Fabio Quartararo, Francesco Bagnia, and Pedro Acosta, to name but a few.
Liberty Media will no doubt revamp many things about the series.
This could include how it uses social media or the start of race highlights being uploaded to the YouTube channel.
Perhaps the series will also gain more races in America.
Either way, MotoGP is in for an interesting future, with Fox Sports perhaps just the start of a massive revolution.
