You need to know about this Navy veteran who has ridden his motorcycle 125k miles in 125 days, crossing 48 states, and still isn’t done yet – all for a fantastic cause.
Meet Pat Cornell, a man who is undertaking quite the journey across the USA this summer on an Indian PowerPlus Pursuit motorcycle.
His wife and family members suffer from Myotonic dystrophy, a degenerative muscle condition, so he aims to raise enough money to help people with the condition through finding community, care, and a cure.
Indian Motorcycles donated the motorcycle to Cornell for his odyssey and is fully supportive of his coast-to-coast fundraising trip.

This Navy veteran has ridden his motorcycle 125k miles in 125 days
There’s nothing more heartwarming than the story of this brave Navy veteran who has ridden his motorcycle in almost every single state in the USA.
He aims to use the journey to raise awareness and funds for Myotonic dystrophy, a degenerative muscle condition, which his wife and family members suffer from.
The charity he has chosen is the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation, and its guiding motto is ‘Community, care, and a cure’.
So far, he’s traveled through 48 US states, almost covering the entire USA from coast to coast, and he’s done 125,000 miles in 125 consecutive days, which averages 1,000 miles a day, truly insane figures.

The motorbike itself
He’s done 48 states so far on his Indian PowerPlus Pursuit motorcycle, which was gifted to him directly by Indian Motorcycles, and he’s chosen a noble beast for his trip as it kicks out a solid 126hp.
It’s been heavily modified for endurance riding, featuring an auxiliary fuel tank, onboard drinking water and cooling systems, a dash shelf with radar, GPS, and other advanced technologies.
He has had a custom seat fitted too, which makes sense; he’ll be sitting in one position a lot as he carries on with his journey.
Halfway through the journey, he broke his collarbone, but he recovered, rejoined the ride, and made up the lost miles.
He’s had to replace the tires 20 times, as well as three rims, the stator, and the fuel pump once. But despite the wear and tear, his machine is still running like the noble beast it is.
Along the way on his journey, he meets families affected by the condition, shares stories, and posts updates for people.
His fundraising goal is $125,000, but he pledges to keep riding for as long as he makes more than $1,000 every single day.
Well done, Pat, you are a true inspiration to us all.
