A Tesla owner just took their first-ever EV for a spin, and they’re not looking back.

The Reddit user shared photos of their new white 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance Highland along with some enthusiastic first impressions.

Let’s just say, they’re impressed for more than just one reason.

In fact, they haven’t touched their other car since they got the Tesla.

“I’ve been driving it a lot,” the new owner wrote, thanks in part to Tesla’s free three months of Supercharging.

And with no fuel stops, zero oil changes, and a whole lot of instant acceleration, who can blame them?

“Loving the insane acceleration of this car. Really makes you feel alive!” they added.

That electric thrill comes from something all EV drivers know and love: instant torque.

It’s the only reason why a drag race between a Ferrari and an electric MG of all things is actually a real competition.

With the Model 3 Performance, stepping on the accelerator means you’re glued to your seat in seconds.

Plenty of electric vehicles can launch from 0 to 60 mph in under five seconds, making every green light a mini rollercoaster.

But it’s not just about speed and silence, as EVs are also easier on your wallet over time.

For starters, EVs require less maintenance.

Just ask this owner of a 2022 Tesla Model 3, who racked up massive savings despite clocking over 100,000 miles in just three years.

There’s no engine oil to change, fewer moving parts, and less wear on brakes thanks to regenerative braking.

A 2023 survey from Consumer Reports found that EV owners spend about 60 percent less on fueling their cars compared to gas-powered vehicle drivers.

That’s before you factor in tax incentives from the Inflation Reduction Act, and rebates from state governments and some utility companies.

So, it’s not too surprising that this new owner can’t stop driving their first-ever EV.

After you consider the real costs of maintaining and driving a Tesla, it’s apparent that there’s a lot to love about EVs.
