This man spotted the ‘rarest Tesla‘ prototype out charging in public, even though it wasn’t meant to be seen.
YouTube channel WHAT’S INSIDE? FAMILY was on the lookout for the elusive Cybercab.
After hearing that it had been spotted in Austin, he decided to head out with a buddy to catch a glimpse of it.
Turns out that he didn’t have to go very far to find it.

This YouTuber saw the rarest Tesla prototype with his own eyes
This YouTuber had barely started up his camera when the Cybercab pulled up in a bay beside him to charge up.
In this setup, there was an element of surprise, as this was the first time it’d been spotted charging at a normal charging port.

A wireless system had been anticipated, but this Tesla had a charging port behind a weather cap.
“It’s crazy that I come to Austin for one day and within 10 minutes…I find [the Cybercab],” the YouTuber said.
And there was not one, but two Cybercabs sitting in this parking lot.

What are the odds? The rarest Tesla prototype, and he saw two in one parking lot.
Both were decked out in gold, with no back windows.
Other unusual features included an absence of side mirrors and unusually spacious interiors.
Taking a peek inside the windows, they could see that the steering wheel had come from a Cybertruck.

The dashboard looked unfinished, with foam placed beneath the wheel, supposedly to protect the driver from banging their knees on the aluminum.
It’s certainly got some way to go before it’s as it should be.

What do we know about the Cybercab?
When it was first announced back in 2024, the Cybercab held great promise.
The two-door self-driving car was intended to be fully autonomous, with the prototype vehicles originally having no steering wheels or pedals.
It’s believed to be starting production this year, but it’s already been hit with several issues – Tesla losing the trademark for its name, and not getting approval from the NHTSA, to name just two cases.

And a report back in November indicated that some of the Cybercab’s more radical design choices might not even make it to production.
It’s been a little chaotic, you could say.
But the promise is great, and the potential is there – we’ll just have to wait and see how it pans out.
