Airline Cathay Pacific is celebrating a very special anniversary this year, and at one busy airport, a retro Airbus A350 was spotted landing, reflecting the occasion.

After 80 years of cruising the skies, a retro design has been unveiled, celebrating the company’s 80th anniversary.

It was no ordinary airplane bearing the design, though, with the huge jet taking center stage on the runway.

With boosted efficiency and improved comfort, the Airbus A350 was the choice for the livery to take flight on, and the sight was truly spectacular.

The Airbus A350: an icon of the skies in more ways than one

With 38 operators worldwide, it’s no shock that the Airbus A350 is a popular aircraft.

In fact, the Airbus A350 was catapulted into production with state-of-the-art features.

The plane even has a frame made from more than 70 percent advanced materials, which in turn enables lower fuel consumption, resulting in a reduced contribution to rising emissions.

The cabin, as you’d expect, is kitted out to the max, and has wide seats and intelligent air systems to provide optimum comfort.

Recently, though, one A350 was spotted making an iconic entrance onto the runway of one of the busiest airports in the world, bearing a stunning exterior.

Cathay Pacific’s A350 is one for the history books

London Heathrow Airport proudly shared the news of the Cathay Pacific Airbus A350 touching down with iconic new livery.

Celebrating its 80th anniversary, the company has kitted out the fleet with a retro green design.

The airline itself explained that it has the ‘iconic lettuce leaf sandwich design as well as the 80th anniversary year mark’.

The livery is a special nod to the green and white striped paint scheme Cathay planes usually wear.

London Heathrow explained that: “The UK skies might be grey, but our runway was full of colour when Cathay Pacific’s Airbus A350 arrived in its striking green and white retro livery.

“Marking 80 years of history, this classic design is back, turning heads and proving some icons never fade.”
