The Tesla Semi truck has turned heads due to its sheer power under the hood, and now footage has been unearthed that shows it in action.
Traditionally powered by diesel, semi trucks are used to transfer goods across the country on long journeys, but now the EV alternative is turning heads.
One X user captured the truck in motion as it passed gas-powered vehicles on the road.
With range concerns often stopping people from switching, this footage looks to give an answer to the EV versus gas battle.

The Tesla Semi – pure power in a big package
With its dominating position in the EV world, Tesla is no stranger to releasing impressive vehicles, but the Tesla Semi is simply something else.

With a range of up to 500 miles and the ability to reach 0-60mph in just 20 seconds, the truck is set to make truckers’ lives easier.
The Tesla Semi is powered by three independent motors situated on rear axles, and can even facilitate fast charging by adding 70 percent of range in 30 minutes.
Advanced motor and brake controls mean the safety is top notch, along with the seating position in the cabin providing ‘better visibility’ as well as the risk of rolling over being reduced too.
The 2kWh energy consumption per mile means it is both efficient and emission reducing, which, let’s face it, is vastly different from average gas-powered semi trucks that currently take to roads all over the US.

Don’t just take our word for it, though – one self-proclaimed ‘Tesla Semi Advocate’ shared footage of the EV truck in action.

Electric vs Diesel – only one could take the crown
The age-old battle was put to bed by X user Zanegler when he shared footage of the EV Semi taking over a gas-powered truck.

“I had some thoughts about how to (safely) capture some video of the Tesla Semi vs diesel semi’s going up a steep grade.
“Tesla runs these semi’s daily, fully loaded up this grade and on other routes to uncover any issues and remediate them before they begin volume delivery. More on this later,” he stated.
The video clearly shows the Tesla Semi overtaking a diesel truck, and at a swift speed, too.
