US man explains why he drives a used $350,000 Bentley Bentayga W12 even though it could bankrupt him at any moment

This YouTuber in the US bought a used Bentley Bentayga W12 that is, in his own words, potentially capable of bankrupting him.

Even though the car had depreciated like crazy, it was still quite expensive to buy.

And more importantly, it is very expensive to run.

But he has also had a word of wisdom for his viewers in his latest video.

This is more common than we think

A lot of people joke about living in a cheap apartment to drive a cool supercar, but some people actually do it.

A YouTuber called TheStradman built a career out of this.

For years, he spent almost literally every penny he earned on cars, and that helped him build a YouTube career that now allows him to have both nice cars and an expensive apartment.

Ironically, he still apparently spends almost all his money on cars.

Another interesting example is Camperghini.

Connor – aka Camperghini – is a YouTuber who sold everything and ‘moved’ into his Lamborghini Urus, which he’s been using to travel the world.

James May once wrote that if you buy a used Bentley, you shouldn’t be tricked into thinking, ‘It’s a Bentley, but it’s used, so it’ll cheap,’ because the opposite is true.

As in, it’s used, but it’s still a Bentley, so it won’t be cheap.

There’s no such thing as a ‘cheap’ luxury car because even when they’re relatively inexpensive to buy, they’re still high-maintenance cars designed for people with big budgets.

YouTuber John Ross – he goes by the name WatchJRGo on the platform – knew very well what he was getting into when he bought a $350,000 Bentley Bentayga W12 for $60,000.

In fact, the car’s depreciation (down to $60k from $350k) partly explained the problem as this turned out to be a complicated and expensive car to run.

In the video, Ross explained how this car constantly leaves him facing a dilemma.

Every time there’s a problem, which apparently happens quite often, he can either fork out thousands of dollars for his Bentley, which would negate the initial savings, or he can DIY everything.

But DIY is only marginally better because it’s stressful.

It still costs time, and more importantly, it’s still not entirely free.

In his view, his Bentley Bentayga W12 is still worth it for the experience and the content, yet he advised against following in his footsteps.

“If I could give you one piece of advice, don’t buy this,” he concluded.
