Footage of the upcoming Tesla Robovan has recently resurfaced and gone viral online, thanks to the EV’s bizarre, futuristic-looking appearance – and you’ll probably either love it or hate it.

Tesla is no stranger to launching a vehicle with a divisive look.

The Cybertruck managed to firmly divide opinions when it was launched, with some folks loving its brutalist aesthetics and others not quite as keen

Now, Tesla boss Elon Musk has confirmed the Robovan is ‘coming’, and it’s already gaining plenty of attention.

The Tesla Robovan doesn’t look like any other vehicle out there

The Tesla Robovan was officially unveiled at the We, Robot event last October – the same event which gave the first glimpse of the Cybercab

In footage from the event, the Robovan can be seen slowly rolling out onto the road, looking like something from a science-fiction movie.

The all-electric van features wraparound stripe-design headlights and a gold-colored body with black accents.

Access to the autonomous vehicle is via a sliding door at the side.

Inside, the van has a spacious interior with the seats arranged in rows, a bit like you’d find on a coach.

A clip from the event has recently resurfaced on X, where people have been left divided by the unusual-looking vehicle.

“Looks like something straight out of sci-fi… except this time it’s real,” one wrote.

“That is such an incredibly cool van,” someone else added.

While others were keen to know when they could buy one.

However, the Robovan’s unique design – particularly its ground clearance – has left some people less than impressed.

“The infrastructure of streets and roadways isn’t made for such low vehicles,” a commenter said.

“It’s all fun and games until there’s a speed bump,” someone else joked.

Elon Musk has confirmed the van is ‘coming’

At the time it was unveiled, Tesla said the Robovan would be able to carry up to 20 passengers and was ideal for both commercial and personal use.

However, since it was showcased over a year ago, there haven’t been any updates on its progress.

Speaking during a shareholder meeting last month, Musk appeared to suggest that Robovan would be deprioritized in favor of other projects, such as the Cybercab

But now, he has made it clear that the Robovan is still on the cards.

The CEO shared the post showing the EV van onto his own X timeline and wrote simply: “It’s coming.”
