After Waymo launched its self-driving taxi fleet in San Francisco, tourists are lining up to get a tour around the city.
Waymo has become the stand-out leader in autonomous EVs.
The no-driver cabs have been hitting new cities every month.
Now they’ve landed in San Francisco, and it’s safe to say that passengers have been extremely excited to give them a go.

Driverless cabs cause a buzz on the streets of San Francisco
It was only last week when esteemed carmaker Stellantis claimed that the appetite for FSD cars (including self-driving taxi services) was dwindling, which saw them shelve their new software.
But someone should tell the San Francisco community that, as Waymo arrived in the Californian city with a huge buzz – and no, that’s not just their nippy motors whirring.
According to the local outlet San Francisco Chronicle, one tour guide has actually been booking in circuits of the city and escorting tourists around in the self-driving taxi fleet.

The report revealed that Dara Mihaly has had frequent customers pay $149 for a three-hour ‘experience’, which involves taking three Waymo cabs to different hotspots.
“Everyone in my industry has been talking about how to implement this technology,” she said.
It has become so popular that she has also begun offering the service in Los Angeles.
Has Waymo won the self-driving taxi war?
It has clearly found a lot of success with the self-driving taxi fleet, having just announced that even more cities will be getting the service soon.
Already, the service is operating in major cities across the US, and plans are in place to take the fleet global by the end of the year, starting in Tokyo.
Tesla, on the other hand, has hit a roadblock in San Fran, failing to get the right licenses to have driverless cabs without the need for a chauffeur.
This has put a pin in its expansion until all of the paperwork has its Ts crossed and Is dotted.
