China’s Xiaomi has unveiled its SU7 Ultra – an incredibly fast, track-focused EV hypercar.
The tech giant is perhaps best known for its mobile phones, but it has dipped its toe into EVs – launching its first car, the SU7, in April this year.
The cars were an instant hit, and Xiaomi was quickly flooded with 50,000 overnight bookings for its new motors.

The Ultra is a much more powerful version of Xiaomi’s original EV
In fact, sales went so well that there’s currently a seven-month waiting list for new orders, according to F1rst Motors.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has now unveiled a prototype for the Su7 ‘Ultra’ – a beefed-up version of Xiaomi’s original Tesla-rival EV.
The incredible-looking car is made of carbon fiber, keeping it lightweight.
Under the hood, the Su7 Ultra has an unbelievable engine, which includes three electric motors – two V8s and a V6 – that are capable of producing a staggering 1,548 horsepower.
The new car looks set to rival Porche’s Taycan Turbo GT, the luxury carmaker’s fastest and most powerful EV to date.
The Taycan holds the Nürburgring record for the fastest four-door all-electric—recording a time of 7 minutes and 5.5 seconds—and it seems that the Ultra is keen to give it a run for its money.
The all-electric packs a punch
Its three electric motors can rocket the SU7 Ultra from 0 to 100km (62 miles) in under two seconds, 0-200km (124 miles) in around six seconds and can hit a mind-boggling top speed of 350km (217mph). So it’s fast, basically. Very, very fast.
To go along with all that power and speed, the Ultra is also getting an updated braking system with six-piston AP racing calipers and large ventilated disks.
The new brakes give the car a maximum deceleration force of 2.36G, meaning it can to a full stop from 300 km/h (186 mph) in just 15 seconds.
For now, other technical details are being kept under wraps – but the company is reportedly set to give the Ultra its first spin around the track in October this year when it will try and nab the title of fastest four-door all-electric.
So, it’s definitely one to watch.
