Zlatan Ibrahimović has never been the type to settle for an ordinary birthday present and so he decided to gift himself an epic Ferrari F80 that reportedly cost $4M.
The soccer legend has spent years celebrating his October 3 birthday by adding seriously expensive cars to his already outrageous garage.
Now, as he turns 45, he has once again gone straight for the top shelf with one of Ferrari’s most exclusive modern creations.
And, naturally, Zlatan decided to announce it to the world in the most Zlatan way possible.
Zlatan’s birthday tradition is getting seriously expensive
For most people, a birthday gift might be a nice watch, a fancy dinner, or a vacation if you’re feeling flush, but for soccer star Zlatan, apparently, it means buying another Ferrari supercar.
The Swedish soccer icon has developed a long-running tradition of treating himself to spectacular cars around his birthday, with Ferrari increasingly becoming the brand of choice.
It started with a Ferrari Monza SP2 for his 38th birthday in 2019.
Now the latest birthday addition is something even more special.
The soccer star himself posted a video showing off the dramatic new Ferrari, complete with its butterfly doors and seriously stealthy finish.
And the caption was the same as it was every year, simply: “Happy Birthday to Zlatan,” which is wonderfully deadpan for a man who has just gifted himself a roughly $4 million hypercar.
The Ferrari F80 is an absolute monster
The car in question is Ferrari’s F80, and it is about as far away from a sensible birthday present as you can get.
Ferrari is producing just 799 examples of the F80, with the car originally priced at around $3.9 million before options and any potential collector-market premiums.
Underneath the dramatic bodywork is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 paired with three electric motors, giving the F80 a total output of around 1,200 horsepower.

It can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 2.15 seconds and continue on to a 350 km/h top speed, while Ferrari lists a dry weight of 1,525 kg.
The birthday boy’s particular example looks especially sinister, with a matte gray finish, gloss black wheels and plenty of exposed carbon fiber.
But then there is the interior.
The cabin features bright yellow Alcantara, including a vivid yellow driver’s seat that pops dramatically against the darker exterior.

Zlatan has a Ferrari collection is already ridiculous
The F80 is joining a garage that was already stacked with some of Ferrari’s most desirable cars.
Among the highlights are a Ferrari Enzo and a LaFerrari, two of the most iconic modern Ferraris ever produced.

Zlatan also owns the Ferrari Monza SP2, which he famously added to his collection as a birthday present, along with a Daytona SP3, 812 Competizione A, Purosangue and SF90 XX Spider.
He has also been associated with an older Ferrari F430 Spider, while his collection has included cars from outside Maranello, such as a Porsche 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition and Lamborghini Urus.
But the F80 might be the perfect addition to the collection.

It sits at the very top of Ferrari’s modern road-car hierarchy and follows in the footsteps of legendary cars including the F40, F50, Enzo, and LaFerrari.
And considering Zlatan has already made buying himself an expensive birthday gift a tradition, there is only one question left: what on earth is he going to buy when he turns 46?
