This man bought a $12,000 Chinese Land Rover replica, claiming that nobody would suspect a thing after he replaced the branding.
YouTuber Carz Plug acquired the car and was excited about it.
Intended to look like the Range Rover Evoque, it did look like the real deal.
But outside appearances can be deceiving right? How did things look on the inside?

The Interior and overall design were described as ‘practically the same’ as the Evoque.
And despite its replica status, there’s a lot to like about this car, from its nine gears to its 2.8L turbo engine.
It drives in a similar fashion to the Evoque, but a lot cheaper, of course – a real-life Evoque would set you back approximately $52,000.

With its powerful turbo engine and its deluxe interiors, if you squint, the Land Wind X7 could very much be a Range Rover, with the logo mimicking that of the font of the original.
Whether or not the logo will still imitate Range Rover’s new design isn’t entirely clear.
Even down to the finer details, the car looked like a match – the diffusers, buttons, and seat controls were identical.
The seats could be electronically pushed forward like the original car.

It seems that even Jaguar themselves believed that the Land Wind model is an exact rip-off of the Evoque, and this is obvious, with them suing Land Wind in March 2019.
Jaguar ended up winning that case in a Beijing court, in what was described by UK newspaper The Guardian as a landmark case for the car industry.
Were people convinced by this knock-off?
If you were to take a look at the comments on the video, you would see that people weren’t all that convinced.
“He’s in denial on so many levels,” one person remarked.
“Just like a Range Rover… to someone that’s never been in or near a Range Rover,” another commented.

“The interior looks nothing like the original Evoque. Range Rover interiors are exquisite,” a third person said.
So there you have it.
We’re not sure if changing the logo will do much to sway the naysayers.
But we’ve seen some pretty impressive replicas in the past.
There was the time this fake Dodge RAM and fake Land Rover Defender went head-to-head in an obstacle course.
And this wasn’t the first time that a fake car had been put to the test.
One fake Chinese Rolls-Royce took on a Bentley in a suspension test.
While one guy pushed an imitation VW Golf GTI engine to the limit.
