This 1972 Dodge Charger was packed away in storage for more than three-decades and has been very well cared for by its previous owner.

The Dodge Charger was first released back in 1964 as a show car and has had various models across its eight generations since.

The third-generation models, released from 1971 to 1974, had been modified to meet new emission and safety regulations.

The cars were fitted with 4-barrel 400 engines capable of producing 280 horsepower.

The SE models, like the one here, differed from other 1972 Chargers thanks to a unique formal roof treatment and hidden headlamps – looking every inch the all-American muscle car.

Decades after their first release, it’s not unusual for a Dodge Charger to pop up in a barn find—this one lucky guy found three.

But while many cars that have spent a long time off the road will be covered in rust and dirt with huge amounts of work required – this one, which has been parked up since 1992, looks incredible.

In a listing on eBay, the man – who came into possession of the car this year – says that until 2024 it had just one owner and has 115,000 miles on the clock.

The car is in great condition and still ‘drives well’

He goes on to say it appears to have been repainted once, in its original color, and that he fitted some new parts, including a new fuel pump, new water pump, and new brakes, but otherwise the Charger was pretty much all original.

It still has its original four-barrel 400-cubic-inch V8 engine and the automatic transmission, and it ‘drives quite well’.

It seems that the previous owner treated themselves to a high-end model, as the SE comes with a bunch of optional extras, including power windows, power steering, and air-conditioning – albeit one that ‘doesn’t get cold,’ according to the seller.

Outside, the car looks great – its paintwork looks bright and clean and the bodywork appears to be completely rust-free, although the seller does note there is a ‘small spot in front of pass rear wheel’.

But if you’re in the market for something a little more modern, earlier this year, Dodge unveiled its first-ever all-electric muscle car – the Dodge Charger Daytona EV
