Despite never driving a supercar before, this 20-year-old flew across the East Coast from Miami to New Jersey to buy a rare McLaren 720S.

To get behind the wheel of a McLaren 720S, you have to be very wealthy or very lucky.

For some people, this goal could take decades, by which point the supercar will have been surpassed by future models that are nothing but blueprints currently.

But for this young ecommerce guru, the dream had come true by the age of 20. He drove away from a garage in New Jersey with the keys to a rare McLaren 720S coupe, despite never driving anything like it before.

20-year-old driving novice splashed out on $300k rare McLaren 720S

What did you get for your first car? A Honda Civic? A second-hand Tesla? Maybe even a BMW if you’re really pushing the boat out. But a supercar? Surely not.

Miami local Derek Gajewski, however, just landed himself a wild supercar at the age of 20, despite never driving anything remotely close before that.

The McLaren 720S is a $300k beast with a 4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that pumps 710HP into a galloping 212MPH top speed.

Gajewski recently bought a rare McLaren 720S, in a shining Belize blue hue, from popular New Jersey dealer George S Saliba, who could hardly believe what was going on.

The young lad reportedly made his small fortune through e-commerce trading and selling perfumes, to the extent that he now has his own warehouse.

“That’s the cool thing, I’ve been in Miami for three weeks now, and we haven’t seen a single 720S. We’ve seen crazy Huracans, crazy F8s, SVJs, but no 720Ss,” he said.

“I’ve never even driven a supercar,” he added.

Supercar owners are getting younger by the dozen

Is he the youngest supercar owner out there? Well, not quite, especially when there’s a one-year-old girl in Dubai with a Rolls-Royce in her name.

Then there’s also the world’s youngest billionaire, who, at 10 years old, has his own Bentley and private jet.

But as for McLaren 720S owners, Derek might take the accolade of the youngest yet.

He now joins royalty like Mariah Carey and Alex Hirschi – AKA Supercar Blondie herself – in owning this beautiful supercar.
