This YouTuber was excited to try out the 2025 Tesla Model Y and was pleased to discover that it’s better than the old one, but he warns you shouldn’t buy it yet.
The 2025 Tesla Model Y is now available for test drives in select locations like San Jose, LA, Dallas, and other cities.
The new car features several design upgrades including new 19-inch rims, a new tail light design, and a snazzy-looking night light bar across the front.
The YouTuber decided to put the EV to the test for just 15 minutes to get a full driving experience on a mixture of roads, both manually and using FSD.

The secrets of the 2025 Tesla Model Y
Famous car YouTuber DennisCW was pleased to get the chance to try out the new 2025 version of the Tesla Model Y.
At the moment, the coveted EV is hard to get your hands on, as it’s only available in select US cities. So the YouTuber was pleased he got the chance to give it a proper review.
He tested it for 15 minutes on various roads. He also used both manual driving and the much-debated Tesla Full Self-Drive features.
In terms of physical exterior design upgrades, the new Tesla Model Y really delivers. There’s a snazzy new light bar, 19-inch crosswind rims, and a brand-new tail light design.
Its good, but you shouldn’t buy one…yet
Immediately after getting in the EV, Dennis felt it was higher off the ground compared to the older Model Y and the Model 3 Performance.
The EV’s cabin is a lot better at muffling street noise and is significantly quieter than it’s predecessor.
Dennis seemed to find the ride a lot smoother than the previous Model Y. It also had a softer and more stable steering and good speed bump absorption, suiting city driving.
The YouTuber thought the EV was lighter and more maneuverable than the Model X. The Tesla was also super responsive in sports mode.
It wasn’t until Dennis tested the highly discussed FSD capabilities that cracks started to show. It drove very conservatively, and the YouTuber believed there were moments he wouldn’t have done what the FSD did.
There was no turn signal integration, either, making it potentially unsafe if it turned without signaling, relying on the driver.
“It is definitely more comfortable hands down. I would say not 50% more comfortable but around 30% more comfortable maybe even over the old Tesla Model Y,” Dennis said.
He was hesitant to say whether the slightly upgraded driving experience of the Tesla Model Y is worth it. Particularly when the older versions are selling at a huge discount.
Even with this, the YouTuber suggested waiting until May. That’s the non-Launch Series Model Y is expected to become available at a lower price.
