This Georgia man spent $116,040 on a 2026 Ford F-150 Raptor R and sold it for a nice profit after only driving it for 152 miles.

It went up for auction on Bring a Trailer, where it went for a surprising amount of money.

The Raptor R is in good shape, but that still doesn’t explain why it went for so much.

What could be behind this curious sale?

A lot of interesting cars have been sold at Bring a Trailer over the years

A lot of fascinating cars have made their way onto Bring A Trailer in real years, often selling for stunning amounts of money.

One Corvette ZR1X convertible sold for almost double its starting price, while a 2025 Corvette ZR1 secured a $30,000 profit for its owner.

Even a car that belonged to Jerry Seinfeld ended up on there at one point, fetching $657,000 in the process.

So a lot of good pay days all around.

And that was very much the case with this 2026 Ford F-150 Raptor.

How much did this 2026 Ford F-150 Raptor go for?

The original owner of this F-150 Raptor R had purchased it for $116,040 and added 152 miles onto it.

This wasn’t very many miles at all, considering they’d bought it brand new.

Now they had put it up for auction on Bring A Trailer, surely hoping they’d make a decent profit on it.

They ended up selling it $129,000, plus buyer’s fees.

That’s a very good profit in anyone’s book.

But why did it go for so much money?

Why did the Ford F-150 Raptor go for so much?

Depreciation is the dreaded word that often comes up in conversations about the second-hand market.

But in this case, it’s effectively been circumnavigated.

Why?

There’s a few reasons you could point to.

As noted by Autoevolution, the Raptor R appeals to a demographic with a lot of disposable incomes.

Describing it as a ‘halo product’ (High-desirability item that is built to elevate brand prestige), the writer went on to say: “Its fundamental appeal will endure in the long term.

“I can imagine people driving one of these beauties several decades from now and enjoying them as much as we’re enjoying them today. It’ll be the equivalent of driving a 1969 Mustang Boss 429 in 2026, more or less.”

It’s also fair to say that the V8 powered truck is increasingly in a demand in a market with diminishing rivals, especially with the Ram 1500 TRX being phased out.

In the case of this specific truck, its low mileage can’t be ignored as a factor.

That is a seriously low mileage, to the point where this truck is almost brand new.
