Hyundai is expanding its EV lineup with the 2026 Hyundai STARIA Electric, a vehicle that brings zero-emission driving to one of its most practical nameplates.
Revealed at the Brussels Motor Show, it takes the brand’s futuristic MPV and swaps combustion power for a fully electric drivetrain.
With enough space for nine people inside, this is a serious people mover.
It also happens to charge faster than most smartphones.

One of the longest-range MPVs on the market
As the first fully electric version of the STARIA, this new model is designed for families, shuttle services and anyone who values space and flexibility.

Power comes from an 84 kWh battery paired with a 160 kW front-mounted electric motor driving the front wheels.
Hyundai’s 800-volt electrical architecture enables rapid DC fast charging, allowing the battery to go from 10 to 80 percent in around 20 minutes under optimal conditions.

Driving range is estimated at up to 248 miles on the WLTP cycle, making it one of the longest-range electric MPVs available.
Visually, STARIA Electric stays true to the original’s unmistakable one-curve silhouette while adding EV-specific details.
A closed front fascia replaces traditional air intakes for a cleaner, more aerodynamic look, while a continuous horizontal light strip emphasizes the vehicle’s width.

Large glass areas and a low beltline flood the cabin with light, and wide sliding doors plus a large tailgate make getting in and out effortless.
Inside, Hyundai’s ‘Inside-Out’ design philosophy prioritizes people and movement.
A flat floor, tall roofline and generous legroom across all rows create an airy, lounge-like atmosphere.

Buyers can choose between a 7-seat Luxury version or a 9-seat Wagon, both offering flexible seating layouts and impressive cargo space.
Sales of the 2026 Hyundai STARIA Electric will begin in Korea and Europe
Dual 12.3-inch displays house Hyundai’s latest ccNC infotainment system, complete with over-the-air updates and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Practical features are where STARIA Electric really leans into lifestyle use.
Vehicle-to-Load functionality can power laptops, tools or camping gear, while high-power USB-C ports keep devices charged on the move.

Despite its electric focus, it’s no lightweight either, offering up to 4,400 lbs of braked towing capacity.
A full Hyundai SmartSense ADAS suite handles safety duties, from highway driving assistance to 360-degree parking cameras.
Sales of the 2026 Hyundai STARIA Electric begin in Korea and Europe in the first half of 2026, with additional markets to follow.
Forgot tiny electric hatchbacks; the STARIA can move your entire family with space to spare.
