This guy is transforming an abandoned Saab dealership in the UK into a dream garage that’s also a museum.

The idea is ambitious but, step by step, this YouTuber is making good progress.

He’s just posted a new video with an update.

And there’s a new thing he discovered, and we may have a suggestion for him.

The idea behind this abandoned Saab dealership

It’s difficult to explain why, but for some reason, many people were deeply saddened when Saab disappeared.

Maybe it’s because the brand revolutionized the car industry in so many ways, maybe it’s just because it was considered a bit quirky in an ocean of ‘boring’ brands.

But, either way, if there’s a brand that deserves this transformation, it’s definitely Saab.

YouTuber Torque Rooms discovered an abandoned Saab dealership in the UK and decided it had to be brought back to life.

The idea is to convert it into a new space for cars, but also as a place that could be used as a small museum and for – apologies, we’re going to use something that’s almost a swear word here – ‘lifestyle’.

We talked to the owner, and his idea is pretty clear

The YouTuber is documenting the transformation on his channel, and it’s clear that he’s not wasting any time.

In the first upload, the owner said his goal was to park old-school Saab vehicles, alongside classic Porsches, giving customers a place to relax with the proverbial ‘cars & coffee’ in the workshop.

He also found Terrazzo flooring, a composite material used for floors that combines marble, quartz, granite and glass.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame, for example, is probably the world’s most famous example.

“Torque Rooms is where coffee, cars, and community collide. We’re transforming a forgotten space into a garage, a museum, and a sanctuary for real conversations, great coffee, and shared passion for machines,” he explained in the video.

We also asked the guy behind the idea – Andy Stretton – a few questions, starting with the burning one: does the fact this was a Saab dealership play a part?

“I think that fact the Saab is now gone does make it more interesting. Also, people can be loyal to their own brand of car.

“I’ve owned several Saab’s over my life and they’d been great cars. I think people are interested by their style and history more so now it’s gone,” he told Supercar Blondie.

“The project is totally self-funded. But I’m not doing it for money. I’m doing it because I want to create something special.”

The idea, in his view, is to turn this into a place where people can come together with a shared passion for cars – and Saab.

“I want us to have a strong support for men’s mental health, especially. I’ve been there myself personally and wouldn’t have gotten through it without someone to share my passion with,” he concluded.
