Change has arrived with the 2027 BMW 7 Series refresh, bringing the brand’s most luxurious interior ever.
Alongside its electric counterpart, the i7, this update brings it in line with the i3.
Unveiled at dual events in Beijing and New York City on April 22, the revised design has already generated a lot of buzz.
The 7 Series is the brand’s flagship model, and seven generations on, it’s still got that star quality.
What’s been changed with the 2027 BMW 7 Series?
A journalist at the Robb Report got the opportunity to get an up-close look at the car.
Bryan Hood noted that the four-door car didn’t look ‘radically different’ from the car that came before it in 2022.
The kidney grille is still there, so one of the brand’s most talked-about design choices is still going to be a talking point for fans.

That’s the exterior, though – the interior is where the big changes have come into force.
In place of the traditional instrument cluster, the dash is filled by BMW’s Panoramic iDrive, running from pillar to pillar along the bottom of the windshield.
And that’s in addition to a 3D head-up display, a 17.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 14.6-inch passenger display.
Clearly, this model is all about the tech.

And it doesn’t stop past the front row of seats either – passengers in the back get to join in on the fun too.
There’s a flip-down 31.3-inch Theater Screen, perfect for keeping the kids entertained on a long road trip.
It also helps that the rear seats have headrests as cozy as pillows.
And with the optional Executive Lounge spec, reclining seats and an Alcantara-trimmed smartphone tray give that extra touch of luxury.
“That’s the beauty of the 7 Series,” Designer Maximilian Missoni said.
“It’s a driver’s car, but at the same time, you have all the luxury amenities you need in the second row.”

The 7 Series has come a long way over the years, from serving as Steve Harrington’s daily driver in Stranger Things to being loaned out to Jason Bateman.
When will these new and improved cars be available to buy – and for how much?
Customers will get the choice between gas, plug-in hybrid, or fully electric.
The base 740i, with rear-wheel drive, has a starting price of $101,350.
The 740i xDrive, with all-wheel drive, will have a comparatively higher price of $104,350.
Production is expected to start this summer, so watch this space.
