The Chevrolet Bolt is poised to make its return with an impressive range of more than 250 miles, and a price tag that will make it the cheapest EV in the US.
Chevrolet launched the original Bolt back in 2016, but the nameplate was discontinued in 2023.
However, following an outcry from fans, Chevy announced the Bolt would be back.
Now, the carmaker has unveiled the upcoming 2027 Bolt, and it’s set to be the cheapest EV in the US.

The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt will be the cheapest EV in the US
Upon the car’s original release back in 2016, the Chevrolet Bolt was hailed as America’s cheapest EV.
And that’s not set to change with the updated model.

Chevy teased first-look images of the 2027 Bolt back in July, but remained tight-lipped in regard to pricing.
Now the carmaker has fully unveiled the upcoming EV and confirmed that it will remain the cheapest EV in the US with a starting price tag of just $29,990, with an even cheaper $28,995 LT model launching later in the year.
But don’t let that low price fool you, the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt is an impressive car.
The updated model has had a makeover to give it a whole new look and will be available in a choice of seven exterior paint colors, sat on 17-inch wheels offered in three different finishes.
Inside, you’ll find an 11.3-inch-digital infotainment screen with Google built-in, and a 11-inch-diagonal driver information screen, as well as multiple USB-C ports, an open console, and passenger dash storage.
The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt is powered by an in-house built electric powertrain that offers an impressive 255 miles of range, and can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 26 minutes using DC fast charging.
“The Chevy Bolt adds to our already successful EV portfolio,” Chevrolet vice president Scott Bell said.

“With Equinox EV as America’s most affordable EV with more than 315 miles of EPA-estimated range, and Bolt offering the most range in an EV under $30,000, Chevy is leading the way on EV affordability without compromise.”
Chevy has announced a Bolt RS trim for the first time
Chevrolet has also announced that for the first time ever, the Bolt will be available with a sporty RS trim.
The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt RS will come with unique grille badging, high-gloss black wheels, and roof rails.
It will be available with an exclusive color combination of Atomic Yellow exterior with red interior accent stitching.
As yet, a price for the Bolt RS hasn’t been released, but chances are it’ll be a pretty affordable option.
