This woman in South Korea had a plan to pass her driving test

Across the globe in Asia, one person was so determined to pass her driving test that she pulled out all the stops.

Known as Cha Sa-Soon, Ms Cha, from a village near Seoul, set out to learn to drive, but before she could take to the open road, she commenced on an almighty journey to pass her test.

Her first test took place in April 2005, but after trying her best, she sadly wasn’t successful first time.

This didn’t matter, though, as she continued to try it hundreds of times more.

She reportedly took the test once a day, five days a week, before reducing her pace, but you know what they say, slow and steady wins the race.

Her attempts soon spilled into the hundreds, with the cost of the driving tests also creeping up to thousands of dollars.

Some sources reported that it amounted to 5 million won (around $3,500), but others say that the cost was way into the $10,000s.

The written test reportedly lasted 50 minutes and had multiple-choice questions for her to answer.

After failing her test a whopping 775 times, she shared her thoughts on her journey to driving.

“I believe you can achieve your goal if you persistently pursue it.

“So don’t give up your dream, like me. Be strong and do your best,” Ms Cha said, according to Reuters.

She finally succeeded after a total of 960 tries

“When she finally got her license, we all went out in cheers and hugged her, giving her flowers,” said Jeonbuk Driving School instructor Park Su-yeon, according to the New York Times.

Yes, that’s right, at last her attempts proved fruitful, and after a total of 960 tries, she has passed the all-important driving test, both in its practical and written form.

It seemed her hard work paid off in more ways than one, too, as it reportedly caught car brand Hyundai‘s attention.

After seeing Cha Sa-Soon’s story, they reportedly gifted her a car, and she even starred in a commercial for the brand.

Her road to success wasn’t easy, but she got there in the end and has become a national symbol of perseverance for many.

She was eventually able to take her grandchildren to the zoo, according to The New York Times, with other sources suggesting her license came in handy for her vegetable business, too.
