Man takes an abandoned Alfa Romeo and turns it into a Ferrari in 'dream restomod' that shows his extreme talent

This man wanted to turn this abandoned Alfa Romeo into a Ferrari, and this project really showed off his skills.

Jeff got the chance to demonstrate his artisan capabilities in a video that has since racked up more than 10 million views.

The car started off the video as a car with faded paint, stuffed with cardboard and sitting beneath a sheet.

By the time Jeff was done with it, it would be totally unrecognizable.

This man worked wonders with this abandoned Alfa Romeo and turned it into a Ferrari

YouTuber Home Built By Jeff found a rusty 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 sitting beneath a tree.

It was in a seriously sorry state, so there was no time to waste.

Jeff and his team got to work rebuilding it with bare metal.

But the most significant change lay in the engine bay – a Ferrari 360 V8 engine.

Power steering and air conditioning were also incorporated.

No detail was spared from an upgrade, as the chairs got their own detailing.

By the video’s end, a bright yellow car was glistening and gleaming – worlds away from what it had started as.

There was even a glass display which proudly showed off the Ferrari engine packed inside.

There was still some tuning left to do, but it was well on its way.

“It is still an ongoing project. Every part of this build was a challenge, from repairing the rusted shell to engineering the Ferrari 360 engine swap to fit into the very small space I had to work with,” Jeff told Supercar Blondie.

“I didn’t want a track car, I wanted something that was quiet and comfortable to drive to work when you want it to and then open up and scream at times as well.

“That is why this has power steering, power windows, cruise control, A/C, and all of the modern comforts. I drive it regularly and as mentioned I am still improving it.”

Abandoned cars often need a lot of love

Fixing up an abandoned car isn’t your run of the mill car restoration project.

Because when these cars are left to the mercy of the great outdoors, all sorts of things can go wrong.

That was certainly the experience for a man who bought a Ferrari barn find that had been untouched for years.

As you might expect, his jaw practically hit the floor when he saw the costs that would come with a rebuild.

Barn-find restorations can be fun to watch, especially when it’s a drastic transformation, as was the case with this abandoned Mercedes.

Plus, this Dodge Challenger 340 got its first satisfying wash in 40 years but the detailer almost cried when he saw what was under the hood.
