This man found a pristine fleet of brand-new 1980s cars inside an abandoned German Ford dealership.

Across the globe, there are millions of abandoned cars sitting in garages and barns.

But most of them have already served a lifetime on the roads before they’re parked up to collect dust.

This sad tale showcases a range of Ford cars that have been abandoned for nearly 40 years and have yet to smell burning rubber and taste the grit under the wheels.

An abandoned Ford dealership in Germany has brand-new 1980s cars

On the other side of the globe to the biggest collection of abandoned Ford trucks, UK car enthusiast and YouTube creator Auto Retro traveled to Germany after being tipped off about a deserted dealership.

This collection appeared to be a time capsule to the 80s, as the entire range of cars was brand-new.

Reportedly abandoned since 1986, the Ford cars ranged in rarity, but most had the original factory wrapping on the doors, which were visible from outside the building.

Auto Retros scanned the glass windows to get a good look at the cars within.

Some of the most notable cars included a green Sierra five-door hatchback, a red Sierra, a blue Sierra estate, a Fiesta S MK2, and an Escort 1.1 Laser MK3.

Despite some obvious dust gathering, the entire range was in near-pristine condition.

Still owned by the dealership owner’s family, the collection has remained on show since his death in the 90s.

The showroom also used to be available to the public, until one person ruined it for the rest of us by stealing some wheel trims and headlights.

The dealership was reportedly booming back in the day, stocking over 300 cars from the American brand, until the owner closed the shop down

“Ford Europe needs to get these cars and store them in a car museum somewhere in Europe, honoring the family behind this dealership,” one commenter wrote.

The YouTube personality also visited another Ford dealership in Belgium, which was much worse off with an array of damaged cars including the Capri and Escort.

There’s also a range of other abandonded dealerships across Europe, such as this untouched shrine of classic cars in Italy.

But its nice to see that the German folk have been kind enough to leave this legacy intact, allowing the Ford cars to be preserved without being stolen or damaged.
