Amazing video footage has shown an Airbus A380 airliner pull off an incredibly steep turn that exceeded its maximum bank angle.
The footage was uploaded to the 3 Minutes of Aviation YouTube channel, and the Airbus was seen pulling this incredibly tight turn in the United Kingdom.
Normally, an airliner would never pull a move like this, let alone an aircraft of this size, but this A380 seemed to handle it with ease.
While we can’t quite see through the fog, this A380 was likely on a test flight and not carrying passengers.
The Airbus A380 performed an incredibly tight turn
The footage shows the luxury Airbus performing a tight banked turn in very murky skies somewhere over Great Britain.
It’s hard to make out the aircraft’s colors, but it could be one of the early prototypes for the Airbus.

As such, banked turns like this are necessary to see how the airframe reacts.
If this were done at an airshow, it would also be a good way of showcasing the airliner’s real capabilities.
The 3 Minutes of Aviation video said the Airbus A380 performed a very aggressive, steep turn.
It said that it exceeded the maximum bank angle of 30 degrees.
However, under law, the airliner can actually bank at 33 degrees.
How has the A380 fared in service?
It hasn’t been the easiest ride for the Airbus A380 in service.
Introduced in 2007, the A380 was hailed as, quite literally, the ‘next big thing’ when it came to commercial aviation.

Airbus wanted the airline to challenge the dominance of the Boeing 747 in the long-haul market.
But while it’s been a technical success, commercially, the airliner has fallen short of expectations.
Some airlines have already withdrawn the jet after less than 20 years of service.

Of 15 operators, five have retired the A380 from their fleets.
Huge development costs and poorer sales contributed to the problems of the airliner.
It is, however, still an impressive aircraft and one that aviation geeks have a big soft spot for.
