An American man sold his Tesla Model S Plaid for a huge loss, however, he was instead able to buy what he called a ‘real luxury car.’
Tyler Hoover, aka Hoovies Garage, bought the 2021 Model S Plaid a few months ago; however, he quickly became bored with the Tesla.
So he decided to cash in, sell it, and buy an old-school luxury sedan to use as a daily driver.
Sadly, Hoover lost a few thousand dollars on the EV after he sold it – but he got another car sorted quickly.

Hoover explained at the start of the video why he decided to sell the Tesla.
Despite being a 1,000hp tri-motor EV, Hoover became somewhat disenchanted and didn’t fall in love with it as he had expected to.
That prompted the sale, and he decided that he’d use the money he got back to buy an old-school car that he would prefer to drive.
He has though made a loss on the Tesla, despite only paying $48,000 for the car when he bought it.

Hoover only drove it for a month before getting tired of it and selling it for $44,000.
That left him with a $7,000 equity in the car, which he could use to see what he could buy.
After selling the car, Hoover revealed the new car that he had settled on.
He bought a 2010 Lincoln Town Car with just 72,000 miles on the clock.
This particular Lincoln had come to the dealership from an elderly couple who were 90 years old.
The YouTuber described it as the last in old-school luxury, and the Lincoln was in exceptionally good condition.
The exterior, interior, and engine bay were very clean, showing the car had been looked after throughout its life.
In the end, Hoover quickly agreed to the dealer’s price of $7,500 for the car.
Hoover only paid an extra $500 over his Model S’s equity.
The YouTuber took the Lincoln out for a test drive and was very happy with his purchase. So maybe Matthew McConaughey knows what he’s talking about when it comes to Lincolns after all.
Things such as the leather interior and the button controls were what stood out to him.
Amazingly, buttons have become quite old-school.
It looked like Hoover was very happy with the decision to trade in his Model S Plaid.
