The average Bugatti customer owns ‘about 84 cars, three jets, and one yacht’, according to former Bugatti president Wolfgang Dürheimer.
When it comes to high-end cars, few names have as much prestige as Bugatti.
Its cars are made in small production numbers, making them as exclusive as they are powerful.
So it should come as no surprise that the ‘average’ Bugatti customer is anything but average.

The average Bugatti customer
From the Veyron to the one-off $12 million Brouillard hypercar, Bugatti is responsible for some of the world’s most desirable and exclusive cars.
There’s even one you can only get your hands on if you already own both a Chiron and a Divo.

Of course, their rarity and performance also place them as some of the most expensive cars on the market – the Bugatti Le Voiture Noire, released in 2019, came with a staggering $18 million price tag.
So when it comes to Bugatti’s customers, you can probably safely assume they’ve got more than a few dollars in the bank.
Former Bentley and Bugatti CEO and president Wolfgang Dürheimer once compared the customers of both brands, and it showed a stark difference.
While you may consider Bentley to be a luxury brand, when compared to the even more luxurious Bugatti, there is a huge difference.
“The clientele between Bentley and Bugatti is remarkably different,” Dürheimer said in July 2014.
“The Bentley customer, on average, owns eight cars.
“The average Bugatti customer has about 84 cars, three jets, and one yacht.”
They’re also happy to spend big to get their car just right

As well as owning enough cars to fill a dealership, a handful of jets, and a luxury yacht for good measure, the average Bugatti customer is also happy to splash the cash to get their car just right.
Current Bugatti boss Mate Rimac revealed last year that, as well as parting with millions to get their hands on a stock supercar, customers will often spend an additional $500,000 on customizations.
“We have special programs that we do with our customers, so the cars are becoming more and more customized,” he told Top Gear.
“Every car is actually really special. We are currently at half a million euros of customization per car.”
