There are more EV options than ever before, but have you ever wondered which is the best US state to live in as an electric car owner?
Motorists who fancy switching from gas-powered cars to electric ones are spoilt for choice.
As well as big names like Ford, Chevrolet, and, of course, Tesla, we’re also seeing an influx of smaller manufacturers launching EVs.
And now someone has crunched the numbers to determine the best state to be an EV owner.

Which US state is a haven for EV owners?
A study from earlier this year found that 72 percent of Americans said they were likely or very likely to go for an EV for their next vehicle.
The data also showed a trend towards younger folks opting for an electric car.

But when it turns out that not all US states are created equally when it comes to being EV-friendly.
Hashbrook & Hashbrook Personal Injury Lawyers recently conducted a study that determined the best place to own an electric vehicle by analyzing things like how many public chargers there are, whether buyers get any financial help, and what the weather is like.
Each of the 50 states was given a score out of 100.
In fifth place was Maryland, which had a score of 58.41.
This was awarded based on its warmer climate, which is kinder to batteries, and the $3,000 tax relief.
But it lost points due to limited charging access.
New Jersey was ranked fourth, with a score of 75.4.
There are a total of 677 public charging ports in the state, and EV buyers receive a $4,000 tax credit.
Taking third place was Connecticut, scoring 79.1. Electric car buyers can enjoy a $4,125 tax credit, as well as use one of the 779 ports. The state also scored well for road safety.
Closely behind, in second place, was Rhode Island, which was awarded 79.2 points out of 100. It has 793 charging ports and a $2,500 tax credit on offer. It also has a solid safety rating.

Taking the top spot was Massachusetts with a perfect 100.
It has the highest charging access across the US, with 473 charging stations per 1,000 square miles and 1,146 charging ports per 100 square miles. It also has a high safety rating and offers a $3,500 tax credit.
And here’s the best of the rest
Other states that made it into the top ten were Maine, which offers a $7,500 tax credit and scored 54.3.
Thanks to its warmer weather, Florida also made it into the top ten.
Filling out the rest were Vermont in eighth place, Delaware in ninth, and New York just scraping into the top ten.
