The BMW Alpina XB7 Manufaktur arrives as a limited edition BMW SUV designed to celebrate the end of an era for one of the brand’s most luxurious models.

Only 120 examples are being built for the United States and Canada, making it one of the rarest modern Alpina vehicles ever offered.

With a price tag of $180,000 before destination, the final XB7 combines handcrafted details, exclusive finishes, and the effortless performance Alpina has become famous for.

Fittingly, it serves as a farewell to the ultra-luxurious version of BMW’s largest SUV.

The first Alpina model assembled in BMW’s US factory

To understand why the XB7 Manufaktur matters, it helps to know a little about Alpina itself.

The company began in 1965 when founder Burkard Bovensiepen started modifying BMW engines to deliver more power and refinement.

Over the decades, Alpina evolved into an officially recognized manufacturer, building exclusive BMW-based models that focus as much on luxury and ride comfort as they do on performance.

Unlike most Alpina vehicles historically built in Germany at the brand’s workshop in Buchloe, the BMW Alpina XB7 has a unique origin story.

When production began in 2020, it becomes the first Alpina model assembled outside of the company’s Bavarian headquarters.

Instead, final assembly took place at BMW’s massive manufacturing facility in BMW Plant Spartanburg, the same factory responsible for many of the brand’s SUVs.

It also happens to be the same facility that held humanoid robot trials two years ago.

The Manufaktur edition marks the final chapter for the model, and Alpina makes sure it stands out.

Buyers can choose between two matte finishes never before offered on the XB7: Frozen Alpina Green or Frozen Alpina Blue.

Both colors pay tribute to Alpina’s signature heritage shades while pairing with gloss-black Shadowline trim and the brand’s classic 23-inch multi-spoke wheels.

The BMW Alpina XB7 Manufaktur is faster than it looks

Inside, the cabin leans heavily into luxury.

Tartufo Full Merino leather covers nearly every surface, complemented by Alpina Walnut Nature Black trim and embroidered Alpina script on the headrests.

Each vehicle also carries a special ‘1 of 120’ plaque, confirming its rarity.

The performance remains just as impressive as the luxury.

Under the hood sits a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 derived from the BMW S68 engine, producing 631 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque.

That is enough to launch the massive SUV from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds.

For reference, this is on par with sportier models like the Dodge Charger SIXPACK and the Zeekr 001 Sport Edition.

Despite the speed, the XB7 still delivers the relaxed grand-touring character Alpina vehicles are known for.

An air suspension system, active roll stabilization, and rear-wheel steering help balance comfort with surprising agility.

Deliveries are expected to begin in late 2026.

Some would say that the BMW Alpina XB7 Manufaktur represents the end of production of a beloved model.

However, others view it as a celebration of decades of Alpina craftsmanship wrapped in one final, ultra-exclusive SUV.
