The new BMW iX4 has been given its big reveal, and there’s no denying the range on this EV.
This car is the next addition to the Neue Klasse generation of electric vehicles.
It’s just months away from being available to buy, and we’re really excited about it.
And once you see the range the iX4 has to offer, you’ll be excited too.
What is the BMW Neue Klasse?
In recent years, electrification has seemed to be the way of the future in the automotive world.
More manufacturers are getting on board with EVs.
And BMW is no different, as its Neue Klasse lineup demonstrates.
Touted as the ‘redefinition of the BMW brand’, it was kicked off with the iX3.
And it’s been on a roll ever since, with constant updates being announced whether that’s an all-electric i3 or a new array of safety features.
Well now there’s a new announcement to take note of – a new car.

What do we know about the BMW iX4?
To start off with, there’s three models to take into account with this car.
The entry model is the entry model 40 xDrive, the middle model 50 xDrive, and the flagship M60 xDrive.
Each one has differences in horsepower, torque, speeds and range.
At the top of the range is the iX4 M60 xDrive, producing 612hp and 645Ib-ft of torque, capable of going from 0 to 62mph in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 149mph.

By way of comparison, the iX4 50 Drive goes off 469hp and hits 62mph in 4.9 seconds.
In a respectable third place is the iX4 40 Drive, with 374hp and a 0-62mph speed of 5.6 seconds.
But how do the cars compare on range?
The range of the BMW iX4 is extraordinary
You can’t not talk about range when you’re talking about EVs.
After all, range anxiety is one of the most commonly cited concerns drivers have about electric cars.
On that front, this new model should alleviate any sense of range anxiety in drivers.
At the top of the range scale is the 50 xDrive, boasting 514 miles of range.
In the second place position is the M60 xDrive, capable of a respectable 483 miles.

And bringing up the rear is the 40 xDrive, with 396 miles of range.
“With the new fully electric BMW iX4, we are expanding the Neue Klasse portfolio with a particularly emotional vehicle,” Mike Reichelt, the head of Neue Klasse, said.
“Its striking proportions, elegant coupé silhouette and Neue Klasse technologies combine to create a truly distinctive character. Blending sportiness, expressive design and innovative technology, the BMW iX4 sets a bold new accent within our fully electric BMW portfolio.”
The 40 and 50 xDrive launch will take place in March 2027, while the M60 xDrive will be available shortly afterwards.
