BMW is about to unveil a brand-new concept car, which according to rumor will be a shooting brake version of the BMW Skytop.
We don’t know much about it yet, and the pictures provided by the automaker aren’t exactly revealing.
But we do know that the new concept will almost certainly debut at the upcoming Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy.
With a bit of luck, the new concept will follow the same pattern as the Skytop.

The BMW Skytop concept car was unveiled in the spring of 2024.
It was inspired by the Z8 and based on the 8 Series.
At least at first, BMW had no plan to turn it into a production model.
However, people loved it so much that the German automaker changed its mind about it, even though we should point out that only 50 units will ever be built.
This is what BMW fans are now hoping for when it comes to the new concept.
It’s with good reason, because BMW M’s VP Sylvia Neubauer said customers can indeed expect more limited-production vehicles, so maybe this is one of them.

We don’t know what it looks like yet, or what it’s going to be called, but everyone’s convinced it’ll basically a shooting brake variant for the aforementioned Skytop, which is certainly a possibility because the car in picture clearly has that body style.
If the upcoming BMW concept is indeed related to the Skytop, then this means it’ll probably use the underpinnings of the BMW 8 Series.
It could also employ the same twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine as the M8 Competition, which means it’s going to have at least 600 horsepower.

There’s no guarantee the car will actually be unveiled at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy, but all signs point to it.
Especially when we remember that BMW Group sponsors the event, and that BMW execs themselves said the next halo supercar would be unveiled at Villa d’Este.
In that case, we can expect to learn more about this new BMW concept on May 23, 2025, which will be the first day of the event.
