Boeing is arguably the most well-known airplane manufacturer on the planet.
From the famous 737 to the 777, many people travel across the world in Boeing aircraft every single year.
Even rapper Drake is a fan of the company, with his customized Boeing 767 private jet serving as a $185 million airborne mansion.
Additionally, Boeing once built a superyacht for its founder, and remarkably, over 90 years later, it’s still sailing – so its expertise extends to the sea as well.
As you can imagine, all the technology that is included within the jet today had to start somewhere, with preceding models setting the bar high.

But, we bet you didn’t know that the coveted Boeing 787 jet once took to the skies with its oldest ancestor – and the display was quite something.
The display of aviation greatness occurred in 2010, when one 787 Dreamliner flew beside the Boeing Model 40.
“The 787 and Model 40, both the technological leaders of their time, represent decades of commercial airplane innovation and illustrate the dramatic progress in airplane design,” explained Boeing in an Instagram post.

The 787 entered into service in 2011 and has since helped to launch more than 425 direct routes to different destinations all around the world.
“The fully restored 1928 vintage Boeing Model 40, Boeing’s first production commercial airplane, was also known for its innovation and efficiency.
“In fact, these two factors won the company the lucrative Oakland-to-Chicago air mail route in 1927,” Boeing continued.
Nowadays, the Boeing 787 is a marvel through and through, and is assembled in the US state of South Carolina.
Plus, at the ‘end of the airplane’s service life’, some of the substances used to build it can actually be recycled too.
The display showed the true advancements in aviation technology over many years.
