Have you ever wondered what happens to a multi-million dollar Bugatti Bolide before it leaves the factory?
The Bugatti Bolide is a $4.7 million hypercar built around the iconic W16 engine, so it’s far from your average car.
Engineers put the car through a testing process before it leaves the factory.
And these tests are incredibly rigorous.

Bugatti makes some of the most powerful hypercars in the world including the $4.6 million Bugatti Tourbillon and the $3.9 million Bugatti Chiron.
Some of the brand’s uber-wealthy clients have even customized them to make them more special including Manny Khoshbin who customized his to have a ‘Batman spec’.
Because the cars are so incredibly special, they are not released from the factory until engineers are 100% happy with them.
And to ensure this, they put them through rigorous testing.
The company calls this testing the ‘meticulous final Bugatti Boline shakedown’. And if that name doesn’t mean business, we don’t know what does.
What does the process involve?
According to Bugatti, ‘before being united with their owners, these mechanical masterpieces face one last challenge: an intensive final inspection and circuit testing program that ensures absolute perfection’.
This final inspection includes being sent to Circuit de Mirecourt in France to undergo serious speed tests.
We know what you’re thinking – it sounds like a pretty good gig for the drivers.
Eight experts push the Bugatti to the max

To start off with, the Bolide is driven by two quality control drivers (relatively) slowly to test its steering function, brakes etc.
The car is then tested by a full team including a tire manager, a cooling manager, two mechanics and two electricians.
All in all, that’s eight experts making sure the car is at peak performance before it’s delivered to its new owner.

After the important checks are done it is time to get down to business on the track.
The Bolide is pushed to 186 mph (300km/h) and the break forces reach up to -2.5G temperatures blaze at 1000°C.
The Bugatti Bolide testing process is set to stay
So, it’s good news if you plan to order yourself a Bollide because the testing process is clearly extensive.
But, would you expect anything less from Bugatti?
