For Mate Rimac, being the Bugatti CEO comes with a whole host of otherworldly perks and benefits.

It often means, for one, that you can take a private jet to pretty much anywhere in the world that you need to get to.

Mate Rimac, however, decided to turn that upside down by driving to the Munich Auto Show.

And the Bugatti CEO proved that even a $4m Chiron can road-trip 310 miles on a single tank.

Mate Rimac heads to Munich Auto Show – and drives himself

The Munich Auto Show recently took over the entire car world over the last couple of weeks.

It saw some truly incredible displays, such as Porsche unveiling its long-touted 911 Turbo hybrid.

Of course, no global auto show would be complete without Bugatti being present.

The brand of hypercar royalty just had to make its presence known at the exhibition.

So, to that end, Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac decided to head to the German city himself.

But Rimac didn’t exactly take the private jet route to make it to the show in time.

Instead, he decided to take…a Bugatti Chiron to tackle the 310-mile journey.

What makes it even more fascinating is that Mate Rimac didn’t take just any Bugatti for the trip.

The brand CEO actually took his own, personal $4m Chiron on the road trip.

Bugatti CEO gets impressive mileage from $4m Chiron

At this point, you might be imagining the Bugatti CEO being constantly stuck at the gas station filling up his $4m Chiron.

But the 310-mile road trip actually revealed something rather surprising about the Chiron.

During the course of the road trip, Rimac managed to achieve an average of 14.3mpg.

It successfully proves that even 1,000hp monsters can be sensible when they’re not being…well, monsters.

Of course, no Bugatti-using road trip would be complete without some bursts on the highway.

That being said, Rimac admitted that his average speed on the trip to Munich was just 64mph.

Just for context – this is a supercar that can drain its fuel tank in just nine minutes.

What do you think of the efficiency of the $4m Chiron on its travels to Munich?

Are you impressed with Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac making his way to Munich by driving his own car?
