Bugatti has just dropped its first-ever collection of sunglasses.

The hypercar maker has paired up with optical designer Larry Sands to create 37 different pieces.

So you can now match your Bugatti glasses to your Bugatti watch as you ride your Bugatti scooter to your Bugatti hypercar.

But only if you have big money to spend.

The collection, which Bugatti descibes as “daring, bold and trendsetting”, was just launched at a private event at the hotel Principe di Savoia in Milan Italy.

Called Collection One, the 37 pieces have been designed using some of the most expensive materials in the world including palladium, 925 sterling silver, carbon fiber and Macassar ebony.

Bugatti says the collection took inspiration from Ettore Bugatti’s vision; “if comparable, it is no longer Bugatti”.

With Larry Sands leading the project, Bugatti says its new collection “goes beyond current design norms and boundaries”.

The automaker says the collection was created using materials and techniques never seen before in the eyewear industry.

Among these techniques was Positive Vapor Deposition (PVD).

This is a process where a solid material is vaporized in a vacuum and deposited onto the surface of the product.

The PVD acts as a diamond-like coating and is highly resistant to wear and tear.

The process is also used in the development of Bugatti’s hypercars.

The new collection also uses the famed red enamel Macaron, designed to mirror the timeless grille pattern on each Bugatti’s horseshoe radiator.

The sunglasses will, of course, only be available in highly exclusive boutiques.

And the price?

Well, if you manage to get your hands on one of the 37 styles, you will have to fork out between $1,295 and $15,000.

Eyewear designer Larry Sands admitted the call from Bugatti was out-of-the-blue and left him pretty stunned.

“When I got the call from Bugatti, I was a little surprised, but to be approached by the world’s most powerful and luxurious auto manufacturer, to create their eyewear, was an honor,” Sands said.

“Everything I do is unexpected, and Bugatti Eyewear is some of my most unexpected work yet.

“Expectation is the enemy of creativity.”
