A C8 Corvette that was seized by Florida Highway Patrol before becoming a police vehicle has won America’s Best Looking Cruiser contest.
The annual competition is organized by the American Association of State Troopers (AAST).
It’s the third time Florida Highway Patrol has won the award, making Florida the first state to win three years in a row.
But this year’s win is all the more interesting given that the car was once seized by the force that uses it.

The C8 Corvette was seized by Florida Highway Patrol in April
There are some amazing police vehicles out there, like this Maserati Quattroporte that’s used in Western Australia, or this Lamborghini Huracán that belongs to a force in Italy; and that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to cool cop cars.
Over in the US, the Florida Highway Patrol seized this 2023 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray from a suspected drug dealer back in April.

The force then decided to utilize the seized vehicle ‘to support the Florida Highway Patrol’s mission of keeping our roadways and highways safe’.
Now, the C8 Corvette has gone and won itself an award after claiming the title of America’s Best Looking Cruiser Contest.
The competition saw 49 States facing off each other in an online vote, which opened at the end of last month.
After two weeks of voting, the competition closed, and Florida was declared the winner.
It’s the third consecutive win for Florida, which is a first in the competition’s history.
“Florida is a state filled with pride and support for our law enforcement officers, and this historic, first-ever three-peat is a reflection of that,” Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) executive director Dave Kerner said.
“I’m incredibly proud of our troopers, staff, and the support we’ve received from the public and our partners statewide.

“And, the fact remains that the Florida Highway Patrol ‘Black and Tan’ is the nation’s ‘Best Looking Cruiser’.”
The win means the stunning C8 will grace the cover of the 2026 AAST America’s Best Looking Cruiser Calendar, with all funds raised going toward scholarships for the children of state troopers across the US.
The 2025 America’s Best Looking Cruiser competition was close
While it was the slick shot of the Florida Highway Patrol’s C8 Corvette set against a backdrop of the iconic Miami skyline that won, the competition was a close run thing.
In second place was the Michigan State Police with a 2024 Dodge Durango patrol vehicle, which was photographed in front of the Mackinac Bridge.
The close-run competition saw Florida scooping 58,399 votes, closely followed by Michigan State Police, which pulled in 57,849.
