The Tesla Model Y Performance was recently snapped up by one owner who wanted a higher level of protection, and so decided to put his trust in PPF.

Paint Protection Film, aka PPF, ensures cars aren’t damaged when completing everyday journeys.

There are a variety of types to choose from and car parts to cover, with this creator opting to protect the front of his Tesla.

For him, it was a no-brainer, and it’s not hard to see why.

Buckle in for your ultimate guide to PPF

Paint Protection Film, aka PPF, is a method many users opt for to protect vital exterior elements of their vehicles.

From fenders to bumpers and even wing mirrors, the film helps to ensure that the car is safe from scratches that can occur.

This can be down to rocks or obstacles on the road, as well as weather such as rain, snow, and even sun damage.

Over on the DennisCW YouTube channel, the creators shared how he wanted to use PPF to keep his brand-new Tesla Model Y Performance in tip-top condition.

So, with just 100 miles on the clock and in the Los Angeles rain, he made the journey over to OC Tint Solutions, where a 3M film was waiting to be installed on the Midnight Black Tesla Model Y shell.

Here’s why the PPF was worth it on the Tesla Model Y Performance

As you can imagine, the Tesla Model Y Performance doesn’t come cheap, so it needs protecting at all costs.

The 3M film installed still showed the Model Y’s Midnight Black exterior despite covering and protecting the full frontal area of the vehicle.

The full front of his car, and the light bar, were protected, which meant that sun damage, debris damage, and general wear and tear were highly reduced, which he was pleased with.

“This is well worth it, especially if you’re going to be driving for three to four years in any sort of area.

“It still shines through, which is really nice,” Dennis CW explained.

A win-win scenario, don’t you agree?

The creator also advised getting a PPF appointment as soon as possible after receiving delivery of your car to stop and avoid early on set damage to the exterior paint.

So, yes, it may incur a cost, but in the long run will certainly save you hundreds of bucks.
